1. About Doyly Planet
Doyly Planet is operated by the Société Sherlock Holmes de France (SSHF), a French non-profit association (association loi 1901), whose registered office is at 15, rue Grande, 03370 Saint-Sauvier, France.

2. Scope of these Terms
These Terms & Conditions govern paid subscriptions to Doyly Planet and the use of the subscriber services made available through the website. By purchasing a subscription or using subscriber-only services, you agree to these Terms.
Mandatory rights granted to consumers by applicable law remain unaffected by these Terms.
3. The Doyly Planet service
A paid Doyly Planet subscription provides access to subscriber services described on the website, including access to the online Archives and delivery of the Doyly Planet newsletter.
Access to the website's subscriber Archives is normally available as soon as a successful subscription has been confirmed and the associated account has access. Newsletter delivery follows Doyly Planet's publication and distribution schedule. Depending on the time at which you subscribe, you may therefore not receive the next daily newsletter immediately after subscribing.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for providing accurate account information and for keeping your login credentials secure. You must not allow another person to use your account in a way that circumvents Doyly Planet's subscription rules.
Doyly Planet does not impose a specific minimum age. However, a person using the service must have the legal capacity to enter into the relevant agreement or have any authorisation required by applicable law.
5. Prices and payment
Subscription prices, billing intervals and the currency charged are displayed before purchase. Payment is processed by PayPal. By completing a PayPal subscription, you also agree to any terms imposed by PayPal for the payment service it provides to you.
Doyly Planet does not require you to enter payment card details directly on the Doyly Planet website.
6. Recurring subscriptions and renewal
Where a subscription is described at checkout as recurring, PayPal will charge the applicable subscription amount at the billing interval shown when you subscribe until the subscription is cancelled or otherwise ends.
Any change of plan or billing terms offered through Doyly Planet will take effect according to the information displayed when that change is requested.
7. Cancellation
You may cancel a recurring subscription using the cancellation options made available through Doyly Planet or PayPal. Unless applicable law or the specific subscription terms require otherwise, cancellation stops future renewals but does not normally terminate access already paid for during the current subscription period.
Where Doyly Planet records an end date for the paid subscription period, access may continue until that date.
8. Refunds and statutory withdrawal rights
Except where a refund is required by mandatory applicable law, subscription payments are non-refundable. Doyly Planet does not provide partial or prorated refunds for unused time following cancellation.
Consumers who benefit from a statutory right of withdrawal or cancellation under the law applicable to them retain that right. Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove a mandatory consumer right.
Because online subscriber access may begin immediately after successful subscription, performance of the digital service may begin before the end of any statutory withdrawal period. This does not by itself remove a statutory withdrawal right where applicable law requires additional express consent, acknowledgement or other formalities.
9. Donations
Donations made through Doyly Planet are separate from paid subscriptions. A donation does not by itself create, renew or extend a Doyly Planet subscription unless the website expressly states otherwise for a particular offer.
Donations are processed through PayPal. Except where required by applicable law, completed donations are not refundable.
10. Subscriber access and account sharing
Subscriber-only content is provided for the personal use of the subscriber associated with the account. You may not sell, transfer, share or make your subscription credentials available for the purpose of giving unauthorised persons access to paid content.
11. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, Doyly Planet's original editorial content, presentation, branding and other materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subscription gives you a right to access the service; it does not transfer ownership of Doyly Planet content or any underlying rights.
Historical documents, quotations, images and other third-party materials may be subject to separate rights, licences or public-domain status. Their presence on Doyly Planet does not alter those underlying rights.
12. Acceptable use
You must not use Doyly Planet to:
- gain unauthorised access to another person's account or subscriber-only areas;
- interfere with the operation or security of the website;
- automatically extract, copy or redistribute substantial amounts of protected subscriber content without permission;
- use the service in violation of applicable law.
13. Availability and changes to the service
We aim to keep Doyly Planet available and functioning reliably, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed. Temporary interruptions may occur for maintenance, technical problems, hosting issues or circumstances outside our control.
Doyly Planet may make reasonable changes to the website, publication schedule, technical systems or subscriber features. Changes that materially affect an existing paid subscription remain subject to applicable consumer law.
14. Suspension or termination for misuse
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, investigate fraud or security issues, or respond to a serious or repeated breach of these Terms. Any action affecting paid consumer rights remains subject to applicable law.
15. Third-party services
Doyly Planet relies on third-party services including PayPal for payment processing and Infomaniak for hosting, email and newsletter services. Those providers operate their own systems and may apply their own terms and privacy policies.
16. Privacy
Our use of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the service, subscription system or applicable legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page indicates the most recent update. Where required by law, material changes affecting an existing subscription will be notified appropriately.
18. Governing law and consumer rights
These Terms are governed by French law, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you in your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms deprives a consumer of protections that cannot lawfully be excluded by contract.
19. Complaints
If you have a complaint about Doyly Planet or your subscription, please contact newsletter@doyly-planet.com first so that we can try to resolve the matter directly.
